Burner Ash

i have a new wood burner , i also put in new stove pipe, i havent had any problems until now, for the last 3 days , when i open the door the smoke comes out instead of sucking it harder up the pipe. i looked outside at the cap and its not clogged, and theres no snow piled around it, the wind hasnt blown in 2 days but that shouldnt matter .. why is not working now ?
could the ashes built up in the bottom cause this, cause i cant think of anything else, but i dont know why that would do it ? suction is suction ashes or not right ?

the pipe an stove are hot , the damper is open, the pipe is new 2 months ago, it cant be clogged already can it?
Sometimes that happens. When there is any wind that helps draw the smoke. If the stove pipe has gotten cold from not using it, one has to get it to draw up again. Try this: light a match with the door opening and put it right in front of the opening. Does it draw into the firebox or into the room? If the smoke goes into the room I open a window slightly to help re-establish the draw up the chimney. Unless you have some kind of a direct combustible air supple from the outside you're like most of us where the combustible air comes from the inside of the house. Over time we have insulated and sealed our house so it becomes more difficult to establish air supply from inside the house. I've even used a propane torch for a couple of minutes in the firebox to warm up the stove pipe. Cold air in the stove pipe tries to go down and as you know heat rises. Leave the wood burner door open slightly at first until the smoke starts going up. I clean my chimneys every year and inspect for buildup. When you clean your flue on a fireplace the soot will drop onto the top plate inside firebox. Be sure you clean this off because it will block the airflow.
The ash in the bottom of the firebox does hinder the fire from burning hotter. Hope these tips help, I've been smoked out more than once.
