Gold Canyon Oil
Posted on Sunday, August 21st, 2011 at 2:21 amIs petroleum jelly to harden my lip balm?
I have just two lip balms. They both honey and cream (as I melted and I do not know if it will harden again), vanilla extract, petroleum jelly and coconut oil as base. One has brown sugar in it (for exfoliation of the lips), and the other cocoa in it (for flavor). I put them in the freezer and I'm not sure they will harden and be cured at room temperature after being removed from the freezer? I was just experimenting and I am determined to find some essential oils to add and purchase of plain wax candles? I know the wax hardens, and I have other tea lights, but they are scented. That those be okay to use? Gold Canyon is light tea and I do not know what chemicals they use, or if I will react to a perfume. I'm not allergic to something. Please answer all my questions? (: Thanks in advance: D
I do not use tea lights is a good idea at all. They are a petroleum-based wax and not good to be ingested, and therefore lip balm, it is important that you use vaseline beeswax is also petroleum based, but it is a derivative filtered. Again, despite its popularity there is a school of thought that this is not ideal. Although it will not probably close when frozen, it will not actually freeze and return to normal temperature to room temperature. Similarly, it is not a good idea to use essential oils on the lips, either because they are toxic and often against-indicated for internal use. If you want Cocoa / Shea Butter use chocolate flavor because it is sufficient to use this site or similar and be sure http://www.makeyourcosmetics.com/recipes/viewrec.asp?id=649&cat=salts Sorry to be so negative but you really need good safe ingredients and recipes. experimenting with toxic chemicals is dangerous. Take care
