Scented Reed Diffuser ?

I just received a reed diffuser in a gift pack with candles and oil but I am not sure how to use it. It came with a little vase too. But, of course, no directions, and I have never used one of these before. At first, I just sprinkled a little bit of the oil onto the reeds, but the scent only lasts for about a day. Am I supposed to dump the whole jar of oil into the little vase and then just keep the reed in it? I didn't want to ruin it....

The reeds should go in the vase of oil. After the first day take the reeds out and turn them upside down and stick them back in the vase. Now the oiled ends are exposed and should be aromatic. When the scent wanes, reverse the reeds in the vase again.
